Home Safety Check
Performing a simple home safety check before bed is a quick way to reduce chances of fires, burglary, and other accidents or potential injuries. Fire Lab teaches a basic guideline for participants to follow, highlighting key components of general home safety.
Fire Lab's Home Safety Check gives participants basic tasks to complete before going to sleep. During this portion of the experience, participants are educated on risk factors associated with actions that include:
Locking Exterior Doors
Checking Stove/Fire Hazards
Enabling Exterior Lighting
Enabling Alarm System
Listening for Smoke Detector Low Battery Chirp
Through completing these actions we provide participants with a strong but basic checklist for items to be completed before going to sleep. Users are also given references and statistics that support the importance of each action while also answering relevant questions to ensure retention of the subject.
